Edward Golden, 96, of Petersburg, IL passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home. He was born on August 10, 1926 in Petersburg to Louis A. and Minnie Bell (Hardin) Golden. He married Hazel Boesdorfer on October 29, 1960 in Springfield, IL.
Ed is survived by his children, Eric and his wife Deedee of Tallula, Vincent of Worcester, MA and Marjorie of Queens, NY; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Hazel Golden; his parents; one sister, Dorothy Golden; and one infant brother.
Ed served in the Unites States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a member of Rock Creek Presbyterian Church where he served in various positions including being an elder. Ed was a member of the Menard County Farm Bureau, served on the National Bank of Petersburg Board, and served on the school board for several years.
