Jeffrey Thomas Knous, 63, of Springfield died Friday, May 10, 2024 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis with family by his side. He was born June 10, 1960 in Springfield to Glenn and Beverly (Thomson) Knous. Jeffrey is survived by his mother Beverly Knous, his sister Elaine (David) Knauer and niece Stephanie, all of Springfield. He was preceded in death by his father Glenn Knous.
He retired in 2014 after 30 years at the Illinois Department of Revenue working as a programmer and analyst. Jeffrey loved animals, horticulture, genealogy and enjoyed spending time with friends.
Services for Jeffrey will be held at Calvary Cemetery at 19127 Illinois Route 123 in Petersburg on Saturday, May 18 at 11:00am. Cremation rites have been accorded by Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Legion Post 32 (1120 Sangamon Ave, Springfield IL 62702) or Animal Protective League (1001 Taintor Rd, Springfield IL 62702).
