Cheri D. Doom age 77, of Athens, passed away on July 12, 2024 at Country Lane Memory Care in Riverton, IllinoisShe was born October 13, 1946 in Pittsfield, IL the daughter of Jeanne Newman and Wendall Stead.She married Roland E Doom on January 22, 1966 at the Williamsville United Methodist Church.Mourning her passing are, one son, Stuart R. Doom of Athens, two daughters, Stephanie (Darryl) Powers of Sumter, SC and Samantha (Doug) Detmers of Hartsburg, IL; four grandchildren, Lindsay Shull of Anchorage, AK, Chelsea (Cody) Miller of Christiansburg, VA, Jordan Detmers of Elkhart, IL and Xavier Detmers of Athens, IL; two great-grandsons, Clayton and Cooper Miller; siblings, John (Vickie) Newman, Chris Dorre, David (Karen) Newman; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Roland, parents Jeanne and James Newman and Wendall Stead. Cheri loved being a homemaker, cooking for her family and employees.
