Verna McGee, age 83, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at her residence. She was born on August 20, 1940 in Athens, Illinois, the daughter of Jim Tomlin and Viola Hannibal. Verna married Ralph McGee on October 5, 1968 in Springfield, Illinois. Mourning her passing are her husband, Ralph; three daughters; four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one sister. She is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters. Visitation for Verna will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 from 10:00 AM until time of funeral services at 11:00 AM at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens, Illinois. Burial with be held at Waverly East Cemetery in Waverly, Illinois. Mott & Henning Funeral Home is assisting the family.
