Rhonda Kay Skaggs, 71, of Springfield, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at her home. She was born February 9, 1953, in Petersburg, Illinois, to Donald and Dorcas (nee Gum) Ortman.
Rhonda married Kash Skaggs on August 6, 1982, in Springfield. She was a member of Calvary Church in Springfield. She owned and operated RKS Construction in Springfield.
Rhonda is survived by her husband, Kash; two children, Shane (companion and Rhonda's good friend Victoria Gordon) Garman and Angela McClure, both of Springfield; her grandchildren, Katelyn (husband Richard) Gonzalez and Zach McClure; her great-grandchildren, Kinsley Gonzalez and Riley Gonzalez; a brother, Gary Ortman; a sister, Debbie Ashcraft; and her Beagle puppy, Dawson. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg, Illinois. A graveside service will immediately follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Petersb
