Mary Rose Satorius, 92, of Petersburg, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024. She was born May 17, 1932, at home in Oakford, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Pearalee (Justice) Wiseman.
In 1950, she graduated from Harris High School, then attended Illinois State University for one year. She married Dale Hollis Satorius on September 9, 1951. He preceded her in death on December 22, 2023.
Mary was a housewife, farm helper for her husband Dale, and stay-at-home mother until she returned to obtain her education degree at Lincoln Land Community College. She graduated from Sangamon State University with her bachelor's degree in education in 1972 and started teaching the same year at Petersburg Elementary School. She returned to obtain her master's degree, and finally retired in 2001 after 29 years of teaching.
Mary enjoyed gardening and had huge gardens each summer, resulting in canned goods throughout the year. She was an avid seamstress, sewing her children's clothing, homecoming an
