It is with deep sadness, we announce the passing of Evelyn L. Sickmeyer, age 87, of The Lodge in Manito, IL, formerly of Chester, IL. Evelyn passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at The Lodge. Born on August 27, 1936, in Rolla, Missouri, to James and Effie (Howard) Williams, Evelyn married Don “Doc” Sickmeyer, the love of her life, on December 18, 1954, at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in St. Louis, MO. He preceded her in death on March 11, 2022. Evelyn is mourned by her children: Lynda (Dave) Mayberry, Shelley (Tony) Caiazzo, Timothy (Leslie) Sickmeyer, James (Genie) Sickmeyer, and David (Lisa) Sickmeyer; her grandchildren: John (Janine) Sickmeyer, Justin (Dorothy) Turner, Erica (Delaney) Attebery, Tyler (Erica) Sickmeyer, Joshua (Cherith) Sickmeyer, Jordan (Amy) Mayberry, Kelsey Sickmeyer, and Jonathan (Miranda) Sickmeyer; and her 21 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Etta Williams, Charlotte "Jane" Wicks, Alice "Mickie" Polivic
