Dale Brown, 95, of Oakford, Illinois, passed away February 27th, 2025. Dale was born May 7th, 1929, the oldest of five sons born to Irving and Ruth Brown of Oakford.
Shortly after graduating from Petersburg High School in 1947, he served in the United States Army. In 1954 he married Janet Specketer of Havana. They spent their 70 beautiful years of marriage in Oakford; where he was born, raised, and spent most of his life as a farmer. Dale was a lifetime member of the Oakford United Methodist Church and was extremely supportive of his community, being involved in the School Board, Farm Bureaus, the Board of Directors, KIWANIS, the VFW of Havana, and the First National Bank of Petersburg Board.
Together, they had two children, Steve (Ronda) Brown of Oakford, and Jennifer (her late husband, Mike) McGhee of Plainfield, Illinois; four grandchildren, Brett Brown of Richards, Texas, Heidi (Andrew) Hiser of Petersburg, Matthew McGhee of Plainfield, and Megan (Frankie) Onesto of Woodridge, Ill
